The Cathedral

The Cathedral
515 NW Second Ave, Faribault, MN 55021 ~ 507-334-7732

Welcome...

...to the First Cathedral!

This is the first church actually built as a cathedral in the Episcopal Church. The Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour has been a vital Cathedral parish, serving the southern Minnesota area for over 150 years.  The compound consists of three buildings. In 2005, the Cathedral Cloister was built to join the 1869 Cathedral Church with the 1894 Cathedral Guild House.

On Sunday mornings, the Cathedral conducts a rich liturgy with music and Holy Eucharist at 10:00 am. During the week we have two organizations which feed the hungry every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Twice each week we host Narcotics Anonymous groups in the Guild House for their meetings. We also house “So How are the Children” (SHAC for short), which assists new young residents from other countries moving into the Faribault community. The Cathedral is also used year round to host seasonal and special events in the community.

The Cathedral offers self-guided individual tours and planned group tours of the three buildings. The Cathedral's story is told in large displays of art, historical archives, beautiful glass cases filled with antiques, and breath-taking stained glass windows.

If you never have seen the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour, put us number one on your list of places to visit. Come and experience the sacred holiness that resides in these walls.

We hope to see you soon!
